Early interests in drawing were cartoons and
technical drawing. Achieved a distinction for
Technical Drawing at Jeppe High School for Boys.
After spending two years in the Heraldry
Dept. of the SADF, I went on to complete
my first year as top student for the Graphic
Design class at Natal Tech. I felt the course
was far too slow and expensive for what I
expected. I landed a job spraying surf boards
in Durban and after 4 months I was offered a
position with an ad agency. I learnt much
more a lot faster there over the next year
and a half. I was then offered a job with
Creative Productions, a leading Stationery
company. It was during my year here that I
started freelancing and within a year I found
my freelance work was far more lucrative
for
me.
I was fairly well known in the early 90's
as the first blackboard cartoonist at the
Keg restaurants in PE and Durban.
I featured on SATV during 3 Comrades
Marathon broadcasts in which I did up to 40
live caricatures in 12 hours.
I have since done illustration work for almost
every media. I have illustrated many books,
adult and kids. I have a quick and affordable
reputation that has kept me in good stead for
the past 17 years. Aged 41 now, I am
planning to move to the Kwa-Zulu Natal
Midlands where I would like to settle and
work from a beautiful country environment.
I am a Photoshop boffin but I know little else
about computer technology.
